Abstract

This work aimed to evaluate the applicability and benefits of composite materials in various industrial contexts. Through surveys carried out in three mining industries and two in the electricity sector, aspects such as the frequency of use of different composite materials, the perceived benefits, and the main challenges faced in their implementation were analyzed. The results showed a high preference for carbon fiber and polymers due to their strength and lightness, highlighting the importance of durability and weight reduction as key benefits. However, high cost and availability of materials were identified as the main challenges. These findings underscore the need to continue investing in research and development to improve accessibility and reduce costs, optimizing the use of composite materials in industry.
