- Peer-reviewed literature is freely available without subscription or price barriers,
- the literature is published immediately in open access format (no embargo period), and
- Published material may be reused without obtaining permission, provided a correct citation to the original publication is given.
Statement of Exceptions
Materials such as figures, appendices, tables, or similar may be taken from other publications. Athenea does not own any rights to such materials or documents and, therefore, cannot license them in any way. Anyone wishing to use such materials should consult with the original authors.
Advantages of open access for authors
Authors of open-access journals benefit from the high availability and visibility of open-access journals due to the ease of access to documents and materials for downloading and use. Access to these materials and documents is accessible over the Internet. No user is required to pay any fees for access to the information.
Also, because the information is open access, it is more likely to be indexed in search engines and databases.
By being published online, open-access journals generally achieve more significant exposure to the scientific community, which enhances the recognition of such work in the number of citations of the papers.
